DAY 14 – AUSTRALIAN OPEN

The final day of the first Grand Slam of the year, Australian open saw the finals of the Men’s Singles and Mixed Doubles. The top seeded Serbian Novak Djokovic proved too strong for the sixth seed Andy Murray from Great Britain. Sheer grit power and determination took Djoko home in four sets.

Men’s Singles (Finals)

Novak Djokovic won his fifth Australian Open in the magnificent Rod Laver arena before a record audience. Despite dropping a set and showing some signs of being off balance, Novak pulled off the match in just over three hours.

Djokovic (1) defeated Murray (6) (7-6; 6-7; 6-4; 6-0)

Mixed’s Doubles (Finals)

The Indian/Swiss pair of Leander Paes and Martina Hingis scripted a great win victory for themselves. They were playing against the pair of Mladenovic and Nestor.
